The 2018 edition of the Macro-Regional Innovation Week is taking place in Ispra (Italy) from 24 to 26 January 2018, with the focus on Science and Technology knowledge for policy support and on collaboration with the JRC.
The Macro-Regional Innovation Week promotes the opening of the JRC’s research infrastructures and laboratories and showcase JRC’s technical and scientific competences, in particular in the field of environment, energy, transport and biotechnologies.
Key results of JRC’s Scientific Support activities to the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), which may be relevant to other macro-regions, will be presented at the event.
The Ispra site (https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en/about/jrc-site/ispra), the third biggest Commission site after Brussels and Luxembourg, covers an area of 167 hectares with ca 138 buildings hosting ca 1,850 staff. After more than 50 years of development, Ispra is firmly established as one of Europe’s leading research campuses. Nested in the beautiful setting of the Italian lakes, Ispra provides a fascinating, multicultural working environment for people from all over Europe and beyond.
